Welcome Message
Dear Colleagues

It is with our great pleasure to invite you to attend the 2nd International Conference of Al Noor Hospital, “Liver Diseases” that will be held during 6th to 8th February 2007 at the cosmopolitan city of Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.
The ICAN annual conference serves as an international convention point whereby physicians from this region and other countries meet to update each other with the recent findings and advances in the world of medicine.
In continuation of the success of the 1st ICAN; “Problems of Obesity in Medical Practice” that took place in 2006, next year’s conference strives to tackle a diverse range of global diseases involving the liver and in particular the presence of Hepatitis in the Arab region.
Viral hepatitis remains the worldwide hepatological challenge. The 1st reference to epidemic jaundice has been ascribed to Hippocrates. The earliest record in Western Europe is in a letter written in 751 AD by pope Zacharias to St Boniface, Archbishop of Mainz. Since then there have been numerous accounts of epidemics, particularly during wars.
We believe that this international conference will avail the opportunity to all of us to appreciate the scientific content, expert knowledge of renowned global speakers, and exchange of ideas with the world leaders in Hepatology. And yet your valued presence or scientific contribution will indeed enrich the educational quality and scope of this international convention.
Looking forward to meeting you in the City of Sun, Abu Dhabi.
Dr Kassem Alom
Conference President
